To lead our next phase of growth and innovation, we are seeking a highly experienced and visionary CTO/Project Manager to join our team.
The Role:
As the CTO/Project Manager at Student Shield, you will take on a dual role of technical leadership and operational management, driving both the development of our technology and the execution of business objectives.
Reporting to the founder, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the strategic direction of Student Shield, overseeing all
technical initiatives while ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals.
Your work will directly impact the safety and preparedness of schools nationwide, setting a new standard in crisis response technology.
Responsibilities:
Lead the development and implementation of Student Shield’s technical roadmap, ensuring scalability and reliability of the platform.
Oversee cross-functional teams, including developers and business stakeholders, to deliver new features and updates efficiently.
Manage and mentor the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
Collaborate with school districts, emergency responders, and community leaders to align technology with user needs and operational goals.
Drive the integration of AI-driven predictive safety tools and API-based crisis management solutions.
Maintain a robust understanding of emerging technologies to ensure Student Shield remains at the forefront of crisis response innovation.
Lead all phases of product development, from conceptualization to post-launch analysis.
Manage budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to meet project deadlines and financial goals.
Partner with investors, advisors, and stakeholders to secure funding and drive business growth.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
10+ years of experience in software development, project management, or technical leadership, with at least 5 years in a senior role.
Strong background in mobile app development and cloud-based technologies.
Proven ability to oversee both technical and business operations within a high-growth startup environment.
Experience leading diverse teams, managing budgets, and working with external partners.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Passion for innovation, safety, and creating meaningful impact through technology.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience in the education technology sector or crisis management solutions.
Familiarity with AI integration and data-driven analytics.
Demonstrated success in securing funding or building investor relationships.
Strong understanding of compliance and data privacy regulations.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Range: $250,000 – $320,000 (DOE).
